Expertise
Thibaut joined TRIOX in 2022 and is a maritime professional with more than 10 years of marine industry experience, including in the offshore oil and gas sector.
Thibaut brings expertise in a wide array of fields:
- Operations and project management for different aspects of ship salvage and wreck removal operations in Europe and North America
- Response to numerous spill incidents in major ports and at Oil Handling Facilities (OHFs) throughout Canada
- Development of and participation in emergency response exercises
- Development and delivery of practical and theoretical training adapted to clients with various backgrounds
- Expertise in various activities of sea-going vessels (e.g., ship waste management, scrubber installation, ballast water treatment and management system installation, ship-to-shore transfers)
- Extensive international experience having worked in 35 countries
He is objective-oriented with strong technical knowledge and effective hands-on experience. He has an excellent safety record with active involvement in the implementation of health and safety measures.
Thibaut is fluently trilingual in Dutch, French and English and has an elementary proficiency in German and Portuguese. He is based in Montreal, QC.

key projects
Recently, Thibaut undertook fieldwork in Djibouti and Yemen, actively participating in initiatives focused on oil spill preparedness. His contributions were instrumental in bolstering the salvage operations of the FSO Safer in the Red Sea. Thibaut assumed responsibility for managing the stockpile of oil spill response equipment and overseeing its commissioning. Additionally, he conducted comprehensive training sessions for local first responders and extended advisory support to Yemen's National Command Center.
Interesting career fact
Thibaut began his career as a professional diver in the shipping industry. Many of the emergency responses he attended were related to stern tube oil spills that had to be mitigated while the vessel remained afloat. He also completed marine salvage projects across different continents in challenging environments.
