Comparative Study of Environmental Emergencies Response Programs in Australia, France, the UK and the USA

Services provided

• Conducted a comparative review of EC’s EEP with other programs in Australia, France, the UK and the USA;
• Developed a synthesis report that:
  • Compared how environmental emergencies are managed in these countries with an interest in governance structures, spill notifications procedures, management of GIS platforms, provision of scientific advice and legislative requirements;
  • Identified “best practices” in these countries that could be of interest for future improvements to the Canadian EEP.
